Following steps need to be followed, to attach vacuum to the filter tank of your swimming pool:
- Remove the cover from the skimmer basket that is situated farthest from the pump. Leaving the cover open, take out the basket and fix a rubber plug in its exposed hole.
- For all other skimmer baskets surrounding the pool, repeat the above step. For proper suction, the skimmer basket closest to the pump needs to be available for attaching the vacuum.
- Find the location of the pool pump, and set the suction valve in “filtration” mode. The filtration settings are different for different pool pumps. Read the specifications given in the pump manual before performing this step.
- In the opening of the vacuum head, insert the telescopic pole and press it till it gets locked.
- Take the swivel cuff end of the vacuum hose and fix it onto the head of the vacuum.
- Immerse the vacuum head attached to the hose, along with the telescopic pole into the pool water. The head should sit at the bottom of the pool and the pole should rest on the edge of the pool.
- Prime the vacuum system by submerging the vacuum hose in water, thus pushing the air out of the exposed end. Slowly push the exposed end into the pool water, displacing it by six inches at at a time.
- Remove the cover of the skimmer basket that is closest to the pump. Take out the basket and insert the exposed vacuum hose in the basket opening.
- A hose adapter or skimmer disk may be required depending on the specifications of the skimmer basket. Refer to the pool manual for this information.
- Once you are done with all the connections, the telescopic edge can be lifted up from the edge of the pool. Finally, start the pump to vacuum the bottom of the pool.
